A few things to keep in mind: if you are traveling with a child, they do have clubs for all ages, free baby sitting now how great is that? There are plenty of specialty dining (for a small fee $30pp for the steakhouse, Italian, French etc… restaurants) so make your reservation early because they book very fast. Agreat thing to do is the chef’s table. Again a small fee and the chef will cook dinner for you and each course is paired with the right wine.

There is not a lack of things to do from rock climbing, to basketball, to roller skating to miniature golf so one cannot be bored on a cruise ship. There is always entertainment by the adult pool side, plenty of wait staff ready to take your drink order and food is everywhere so you cannot go hungry, perhaps you will gain a few pounds. There is also a pool dedicated only to kids, very colorful and busy to keeps the kids entertained.

On the promenade deck, you will find lots of shops and small eateries that you can sit and watch people go by or shop. Regarding shopping, if you find an item you like, be it perfume, watches, designer something or another, do not buy it at first sight because toward the end of the cruise they always have a big sale and you can get that item at a lower price.

The ship offers a lot of excursions which can be very pricey. You can also find the locals outside the ship offering the same excursion at a much cheaper price. The  only difference is that Royal Caribbean guarantees to get you back to the ship on time and will wait if some unforseen situation happens whereas the same is not true when you use the locals, the ship will not wait for you.

On the Allure of the Seas cruise ship, the 8th deck is a replica of New Yor’s Central Park filled with lush greenery complete with beautiful gardens as well as bugs and lizards. There you will find a deli, a small breakfast restaurant, lots of shops and benches all around that you can rest or take up some reading and specialty restaurants. At night, you may find a piano player or a jazz band for you entertainment.

I went up to my room and it was far too far from the elevator as I had an injury in my leg so I asked them to give me a room closer to the elevator which they accommodated the next day; however that room was smaller than the previous one, and when I asked why that was they mentioned that, as a courtesy, they’s upgraded my room and the new room is actually the one I paid for. To which I answered, next time you upgrade a client’s room, let them know. I was expecting the same size room but got a smaller one. I stayed in my new room because the view from my balcony was stunning much better than the Junior Suite that they upgraded me to. Backward if you ask me.

It is a small resort and not a lot of activities to keep the guest entertained. The beach area is very small. Out of the 4 restaurants on the resort, the Italian restaurant was the best. I won’t even take the time to review the other ones. The staff definitely need to go to hospitality classes.

Some of the problems were that the toilet leaked every time it was flushed and  there were mold around the faucet that was already loose. Despite reporting them, they were not fixed during our stay.

Because we were a group we had our own fun and created our own activities. Not that I wouldn’t return to Curacao, but wouldn’t go back to Dreams. Definitely not part of my top ten. I will not recommand it to my clients going forward.

Definitely recommand to visit Curacao, specially Mombay Beach Street. There are lots of restaturants, shops, and souvenir shops as well. Of course the beach is a few feet away for you to enjoy the day. The catamaran beach day to Klein Curacao was nice but I would not book it with Irie Tours because their side of the beach has no chairs and not a lot of shade for folks who prefer to take it easy under some shade.
